A remarkable example of one of Ford s most iconic AVO-built performance cars, this Ford Escort Mk1 Mexico is presented in exceptional order following a complete, no-compromise restoration to concours level.Built as part of Ford s celebrated Advanced Vehicle Operations programme, the Mk1 Mexico was developed to mark Ford s victory in the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup Rally and combined the proven 1600 Kent crossflow engine with the stronger Type 49 bodyshell, making it one of the most important and collectible fast Fords of the era.
