Description
Cadillac built its reputation on precision engineering under Henry Leland.
Introduced in 1908, the Model 30 combined four-cylinder performance with controlled production costs, establishing a foundation for increasingly refined successors.
By 1914, its four-cylinder engine displaced 5,996cc, whilst a Timken two-speed rear axle provided six forward ratios in conjunction with the three-speed gearbox.
Electric starting, introduced by Cadillac for 1912, further enhanced usability and this example benefits from both features. Bearing engine number 94737, this five passenger touring car was discovered by its present private owner whilst living and working in the United States around 2009.
It's understood to have been found in a container around 2004–2005, having reportedly remained unused since the 1920s, and photographs recording its condition, as found, accompany the car. An extensive mechanical restoration was entrusted to early Cadillac specialist, George Kaforski of Ohio.
