Few motor cars have defined a sector quite so completely as the original Range Rover.

Equally at home outside a country house, crossing a muddy field or covering vast motorway miles in supreme comfort, it created the luxury 4x4 market and remained the benchmark throughout its remarkable 26-year production life.

By 1993, Land Rover had refined the formula to its highest level with the long-wheelbase LSE, the ultimate evolution of the Classic Range Rover.

Powered by the marque's uprated 4.2-litre Rover V8, producing around 200bhp, and equipped with the pioneering Electronic Air Suspension system that would later be further developed for the succeeding P38A, the LSE combined effortless performance with a level of refinement previously unseen in a British four-wheel drive.

With a list price approaching £30,000 when new, it represented the flagship of the Range Rover line-up and remains one of the most desirable and collectable variants today.
