The Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2 Roadster remains one of the most recognisable and celebrated sports cars of the 20th century, combining advanced engineering with Malcolm Sayer’s timeless design.
Introduced in 1961 and developed from Jaguar’s Le Mans-winning D-Type, the E-Type set new standards for performance and value, with its monocoque construction, independent suspension and 150mph capability placing it firmly at the forefront of contemporary sports car design.
By late 1964, the introduction of the 4.2-litre engine marked a significant step forward.
Whilst visually almost unchanged, the revised model benefitted from increased torque and improved flexibility, complemented by a fully synchromesh gearbox and enhanced braking.
