Wood & Pickett were among the most respected aftermarket coachbuilders of the 1960s and 1970s, transforming the humble Mini into a bespoke, luxury city car for discerning clients.

Offering an extensive list of individually priced options, they created highly personalised cars that appealed to a well-heeled and often high-profile clientele.

Notable customers included Elton John , Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney , while one of the earliest examples is believed to have been commissioned by Hayley Mills in 1964.

This 1979 Mini 1275 GT Margrave was ordered new by Alan Gard, a prominent figure in the British ‘Jewellery Renaissance’ of the 1960s, whose work earned Royal recognition.

Remaining in London ownership from new, this one-owner example represents a particularly rare and well-documented example of a Wood & Pickett conversion.
