Background: The Ford Falcon was introduced in the early 1960s as a compact and accessible model within Ford’s range, designed to offer practicality alongside clean, understated styling.

The second-generation Falcon line up returned for 1964 with a mature and contemporary redesign.

It kept its 109.5-inch wheelbase but marginally grew in length, width and weight with distinctly chiselled features and wedge-look bodysides with twin tapered crease lines replaced the original more rounded look giving the car a slightly more aggressive 'leaning forward' stance.

The Futura trim option offered additional comfort and visual enhancements to the range including Bucket-styled full-width front seats with a centre console, colour-keyed all-vinyl trims, two -spoke safety steering wheel with a d eluxe chrome horn ring, full carpeting, and rear bumper chevrons.

All told there were 17 Falcon models, five engines and four transmission choices, something for everyone.
