Created to mark four decades of the Porsche 911, the 40th Anniversary Edition remains one of the most sought-after and carefully specified models of the 996 generation.

Production was limited to just 1,963 examples worldwide, with approximately 200 supplied to the UK market, ensuring lasting collectability.

Based on the Carrera 2, the Anniversary Edition benefitted from the factory X51 Powerkit, increasing output to 345bhp, along with sports suspension, a limited-slip differential, GT3-style front apron and polished 18" Turbo alloy wheels.

All examples were finished exclusively in GT Silver Metallic with a black leather interior, complemented by a numbered dashboard plaque and a bespoke Porsche luggage set.

This particular car is a C16 UK-supplied, right-hand drive, manual gearbox example with build number 427 and is offered from the Bunbury Collection, with the sale described as reluctant due to ill health.

The odometer now displays 42,077 miles from new and the car is reported ...
