During the 1970s, Carmichael Ltd of Worcester converted a number of Range Rovers into six-wheelers, some for private individuals but primarily for commercial use as fire tenders and rescue vehicles, offering additional capacity for equipment and personnel Technically they were designated Truck Fire-Fighting Airfield Crash Rescue 2 Tonne 6 x 4 Mark 2 (TACR2) Most were left as four-wheel drive (6 x 4) but a number were converted to six-wheel drive (6 x 6) Manufactured in 1989, this example was converted by Carmichael to 6 x 6-specification for use as a fire and rescue vehicle and operated on an airfield in period It's finished in Fire Engine Red with full Fire Service livery and is still fitted with hoses, lights, and sirens etc.

Powered by Rover’s 3.5-litre V8 fuel-injection engine, paired with a manual transmission Later purchased by a family friend of our vendor, the Range Rover has been in kept in storage with very minimal use and started on occasions.
