Ford’s Thunderbird was launched in 1955 as a direct response to Chevrolet’s Corvette, quickly outselling its more expensive competitor by 24:1 thanks to its elegant styling, refined V8 performance, and well-appointed creature comforts.

Today, the Thunderbird is widely recognised as a 'Blue Oval icon' and is highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

This particular example was built in 1956, featuring the 312 cubic inch V8 paired with a 3-speed manual gearbox, along with power brakes and power steering for effortless cruising.

It underwent a meticulous frame-off restoration in Italy by Stefano Landi around 2009 and has covered just 4,000 miles since completion.

Every aspect of the restoration was executed to the highest standard, with comprehensive photographic records documenting the rebuild of the engine and transmission, including new pistons, valves, and associated components.
