Background: The R230-generation SL55 AMG debuted as one of the most powerful and technically advanced grand tourers of its era.
Powered by a hand-built 5.4-litre supercharged V8 producing 500bhp and over 700Nm of torque, it delivered blistering performance in an elegant and comfortable package.
The F1 Performance Package, developed in response to the Formula 1 Safety Car programme, sharpened the SL55 further with features such as larger brakes, retuned suspension, lightweight wheels and increased top speed, creating one of the most desirable specifications available.
With its blend of long distance capability and outright pace, the SL55 AMG found favour with enthusiasts and collectors alike, and well maintained examples remain highly sought after.
