100kg was shed through the extensive use of carbon fibre body panels, bonnet, bumpers and front wings.

With production limited to just 100 examples worldwide, of which 28 were UK right-hand drive, the new model incorporated much of what had been learned from their successful GT racing programme.

Power from the 6-litre V12 was increased from 550 to 592bhp and the chassis updated including a wider track and large carbon-ceramic brake discs.

The 7-speed sport-shift transmission was also updated for faster gear changes, while downforce to the rear wing, front splitter, rear diffuser and side skirts was increased by a factor of seven.
