The car is described as being dry stored for many years and the exterior panels, chassis and interior whilst showing signs of age look to be in original and unmolested condition. The listing assumes that the vehicle does not start or run and it is recommended to bring trailers with winches as vehicles in this sale have not been run in some time. This suggests that reconditioning is necessary.

The 1937 Wolseley 12/48 was a mid-sized British car that marked a transition period for Wolseley Motors, with 1937 being the year the updated Series III model was introduced to replace the Series II.

In 1937, you could find both Series II and the newly launched Series III versions of the 12/48:
It featured a 1,479cc or 1,548cc 4-cylinder overhead-valve (OHV) engine.

This was a more premium offering compared to its Morris equivalents, which often used side-valve engines.
The '12/48' name denotes its 12hp tax rating and 48bhp actual output.
Primarily available as a 4-door saloon, including 'Sliding Head' versions with a sunroof.
It was equipped with a four-speed gearbox and pressed-steel 'Easiclean'wheels.

The Series III update introduced a new 98-inch wheelbase frame with cruciform bracing and a lower ride height for better stability.
