1950 BENTLEY MKVI ROADSTER SPECIAL BY THE CHELSEA WORKSHOPThe 1950 Bentley Mark VI Roadster (often referred to incorrectly as Mark IV) is a highly bespoke, open-top vehicle typically created as a 'Special.'While Bentley primarily manufactured the Mark VI as a Standard Steel Saloon between 1946 and 1952, the Roadster variants seen today are almost exclusively unique coachbuilt commissions or later professional conversions.
These roadsters are built on the original Bentley Mark VI chassis, featuring a 4,257cc (4.3L) straight-six engine.Many modern examples were rebodied by specialists such as the Chelsea Workshop.
These 'Specials' often take inspiration from pre-war racing designs, featuring hand-formed aluminium bodywork.The original 4.3L engine more than capable of propelling this elegant British roadster at speed with decent acceleration.Because they are bespoke creations, no two roadsters are exactly alike.
