Styled by Pietro Frua, the Quattroporte featured clean, restrained lines allied to Maserati’s race-bred V8 engine.

In 1966, the model was revised with several significant updates, including twin headlamps, a redesigned interior with full-width wood fascia and a move to a leaf-sprung rear axle.
