The DBS name had been used once before on their 1967-72 grand tourer coupé and the modern car was officially unveiled at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on 16th August 2007, followed by the more traditional 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The convertible version of the DBS, dubbed the DBS Volante, was unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, followed this time by the 2009 Concours d'Elegance.
Impressively, the roof could also be opened or closed even at speeds up to 30mph.
Other features included rear-mounted six-speed manual or optional six-speed Touchtronic 2 automatic gearbox and a Bang and Olufsen BeoSound DBS in-car entertainment system with 13 speakers.
