Year: 1999 Make: Ferrari Model: F355 Spider F1 Registration: T746 MNB Chassis No: ZFFXR48C000115982 Odometer: 22,500 The Ferrari F355 was first presented to the motoring press in May 1994 with two models available: the coupé Berlinetta and the Targa top GTS.
The Spider became available in 1995 whilst in 1997 the Formula 1-style paddle gear shift was introduced which added a further £6,000 to the dealer list price.
Apart from the displacement increase from 3.4 to 3.5 litres, the major difference between the V8 engine in the 348 and F355 is the introduction of a five-valve cylinder head.
This new head design allowed for better intake permeability and resulted in an engine that was considerably more powerful, in fact the F355’s best time around Ferrari’s Fiorano test track was three seconds faster than the formidable Ferrari 512TR.
The F355 was the last in the series of mid-engined Ferraris with the Flying Buttress rear window, a lineage going back to the 1965 Dino 206 GT.
