Odometer: 69,500 The Rapide was Aston Martin’s first foray into four-door series production cars.
While several Astons past-and-present have had four seats, this was the Gaydon marque’s first truly dedicated four-seater.
Built atop Aston’s celebrated VH platform – the skeleton of some of its most superb supercars – the Rapide drew its styling from the DB9 and DBS, albeit with a longer wheelbase.
The first concept was revealed in 2006, and the final production version in 2009; production began in May 2010, with the cars produced at the Magna Steyr facility in Austria, which has handled production of cars on behalf of BMW, Mercedes and Jaguar, among others.
The original ‘Rapide’ was a limited-production luxury saloon car produced by Aston Martin in the early 1960s, albeit under its Lagonda marque; only 55 were ever produced.
