AI Listing Summary

This 1973 Bentley T, owned by the vendor since 1982, presents a recommissioning opportunity. Originally supplied to Ireland and later repainted, it features a cream leather interior in good condition. It will need some work to bring it back to roadworthy condition. A rare find with long-term ownership.

Condition

6

The car has been kept off the road for a long time and will require some recommissioning. While the interior is in good condition, the car has been repainted, indicating some cosmetic work was needed. The car's long-term ownership and limited number of previous keepers are positive aspects, but the need for recommissioning suggests it's not in top condition.

Year: 1973 Make: Bentley Model: T Registration: YJD 957T Chassis No: SBH169599 Engine No: 16959 Mileage: 71,435 The Bentley T-Series was the Bentley badged version of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, available as a four or two-door saloon with coachwork by James Young or Mulliner Park Ward.

The Bentley differed from its Rolls-Royce equivalent by its more rounded front grille and different bonnet while the badging on the wheel covers, boot lid and gauges naturally featured Bentley motifs.

In October 1966, the ‘T’ saloon's pre-tax 'list price' of £5,375 undercut the Rolls-Royce by £50! The Bentley was technically an identical twin of the Rolls-Royce with the same Rolls Royce engine and seemed to have been purchased mostly by owners wishing for a more understated and sporting luxury saloon.

First registered on 11th November 1978 this Bentley T has been owned by the noble vendor since 1982, Originally supplied to Ireland, he bought the car for £17,000 on lease from Jack Alp.
