Engine No: 00982 Mileage: 80,880 • Comprehensive service and maintenance history • Desirable Boomerang rear lights The Maserati 3200 GT was styled by Italdesign whose founder and head, Giorgetto Giugiaro, previously designed, amongst others, the Ghibli, Bora and Merak and so certainly had the pedigree behind him.
Sold mainly in Europe, the 3200 GT shared the twin-turbo 3.2 litre, V8 featured in the Quattroporte IV and Shamal, revised and tuned to 365bhp.
The taillights consisted of LEDs arranged in the shape of a boomerang.
The outer layer of the 'boomerang' provided the brake light, with the inner layer providing the directional indicator.
Sadly, the U.S. insisted on bulbs and so, as is so often the way, style made way for bureaucracy.
Nevertheless, it went on to be a great success, until 2007, with the boomerang rear lights being the more desirable.
