Vehicle Details

AI Listing Summary

This 1971 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible, originally delivered to the U.S. and later registered in the UK in 2016, features a 6750cc engine and automatic transmission. While presenting well in silver and dark blue with a matching interior, it requires recommissioning, with corrosion on the rear wings and an inoperative hood needing attention, making it a very attractive estimate for someone looking for a project.

Condition

6

The car presents well overall, with an attractive color combination and an interior that suggests the mileage is genuine. However, there are some notable issues, including corrosion on the rear wings and an inoperative hood that is beginning to lift. It also requires some recommissioning. The presence of corrosion and the inoperative hood detract from the otherwise good condition.

Rolls-Royce Motors formed Mulliner Park Ward in 1961 by the merger of two subsidiaries: Park Ward of Willesden, London since 1939 and H.

J.

Mulliner & Co.

of Chiswick, a Rolls-Royce subsidiary since 1959.

They were brought in to develop the new unitary constructed Silver Shadow unveiled in 1965 to huge acclaim.

Despite being shorter and narrower than the previous Silver Cloud, they actually offered more internal space.

The standard Shadow had four doors until the introduction of the coachbuilt models with a two-door coupé and dropheads respectively.

Up to 1970 and pre-Corniche moniker, they were fitted with a 6230cc engine mated to an automatic transmission from General Motors.

From 1970 onwards, the well-known 6750cc was fitted to pretty much all models across the range.

These exclusive cars were handbuilt in the best traditions of British coachbuilding using only materials of the finest quality including Wilton carpeting, Connolly hide and burr walnut veneers.
