Condition

9

The car has been extensively restored to a very high standard, including a full body refurbishment, new sills and rear subframe, and rebuilt engine and gearbox. The interior has also been refurbished, with new headlining and recovered seats. The presentation is described as 'pristine'. However, it is important to note that the car has had only 391 miles in the last 42 years. I am scoring this a 9, as it is likely in near-perfect condition, but mileage is exceptionally low and that may affect condition.

The Mini Cooper soon established its credentials as a rally and race winner, and the stage was set for even faster versions.

The first of these, the 1,071cc Mini Cooper 'S' of 1963, took engine development a stage further and provided the basis for the 971 'S' and 1275 'S' of 1964.
