Condition

7

The car has had an earlier body restoration and the paintwork is still in good condition with a couple of small dents. The interior was completely refurbished in 2022 using the original fittings and looks great in tartan. The wiring is in good condition and the exterior chrome-work is good but there is some minor pitting. Continuous restoration and maintenance from 2015 of the mechanical side. The cable needs looking at for smoother gear selection.

The cars were built in Croydon UK by Trojan to the design of the Heinkel Kabine and using the reliable Heinkel four-stroke 198 cc engine.

The car was advertised as having a top speed of 56mph and achieving 95mph but probably not both at the same time! The design was inspired by the original Italian Isetta but is much lighter and the steering wheel is in a fixed position.

This rare four-wheel version was built in 1963 and registered in April of that year (60 years ago) for export to Holland and was repatriated in 2015 by the previous owner on the grounds of ‘significant historical interest’.

It is registered with the DVLA as an Historic Vehicle so MoT and Tax (payment) exempt.

The car was confirmed as genuine and original by the Heinkel Trojan Archive Trust in May 2016.

Certificate provided.

The body had an earlier restoration and the paintwork is still in good condition with a couple of small dents which are difficult to see in most lighting conditions.
