Power for Morgan’s 5th generation Aero 8 came from a BMW-sourced 4.8 litre V-8 engine, capable of 367bhp and 370 foot-pounds of torque, which by modern standards may seem unremarkable.

However, when paired to a bonded aluminium chassis that resulted in a curb weight of just 1,180 kg, the performance was anything but: 0-100km/h in roughly 4.5 seconds and a top speed in excess of 273km/h.
