Established as a buggy company before the Civil War, Studebaker entered the automotive business in 1904, building bodies for chassis supplied by Garford of Elyria, Ohio.

By 1913, the company was building its own cars, beginning a tradition of well-built automobiles from South Bend, Indiana, that would continue for the next 51 years.

By the time Studebaker moved to Canada in 1964, it was the country’s oldest automobile manufacturer and among the longest surviving car manufactures in the world.

The Light Six was in production for seven years, with modern bodywork and styling making this a highly desirable vehicle to own.

More than 200,000 were manufactured by Studebaker.
