AI Listing Summary
This 1991 Mercedes-Benz 280 GES G-Wagon, originally purchased from Mercedes-Benz Bournemouth, is presented in metallic Beryll Blue (Green) with grey cloth trim. It features an automatic transmission, wide alloy wheels, and an electric sunroof. The car has been well-maintained, with only 85,000 miles covered, recent fluid changes, and comprehensive history.

Condition
7
The car is described as 'very well presented' with an 'especially well kept' interior, especially considering its age and original purpose as a utility vehicle. It has covered just over 85,000 miles and has recently had all fluids changed. The comprehensive history file and the fact that the vendor has owned it since 2014 further suggest that it has been well cared for. However, given that it is a 29-year-old car, it's unlikely to be in absolutely perfect condition.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagon, short for Geländewagen (cross-country vehicle), is characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction.
It uses three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature.
The G-Class is still in production and is one of the longest produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles in their history with a span of 32 years.
It was developed as a military vehicle from a suggestion by the Shah of Iran and offered as a civilian version in 1979.
The first major refinements were introduced in 1981, including an automatic transmission, air conditioning, an auxiliary fuel tank, protective headlamp grilles and a cable winch.
Fuel injection became available in 1982 when the 230GE was introduced in Turin, along with more comfortable and supportive front seats, auxiliary heating, wider tyres and wheel arches.
For 1985, differential locks, central door locking and a tachometer became standard.
