This car can be viewed in person from 14th to 18th July 2020 at our the auction site, Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, SL3 9HY Austrian born engineer Carlo Abarth set up as an independent tuning company in Turin.

From producing induction and exhaust systems, Abarth branched out into selling performance kits primarily for Fiat production cars, later building a highly successful series of aerodynamically stylish sports prototypes and limited series production cars.

The company would lead the way in converting these fun little cars into successful fast road and racing cars of the period.

With genuine Abarth models now seeing some extraordinary prices, it is no surprise that many have been converted to replicate these versions of the Fiat 500.

This example was supplied new by Haynes Continental Motors, Oxford and was first registered on 7th November 1969.

Unusually the Fiat was retained by the dealership owner who subsequently gifted the car to his wife.
