Condition

The car is a recreation, not an original. While built to a very high standard, it's not an original 1958 Maserati 450 S. The description highlights its excellent build quality and adherence to original drawings, but also points out it's a replica. Therefore, it cannot be rated as pristine, outstanding, or excellent, as those ratings imply originality and near-perfection in terms of preservation or restoration of an original vehicle.

In the history of Maserati, the 450 S Barchetta has been one of the most fascinating of all racing machines.

Very powerful with a great chassis, the car had successes, although it could be a little temperamental on the track.

With just 10 cars produced, the 450 S was all the more fascinating since its association with a certain brilliant Argentinian driver.

Having successfully raced in the 1950s and 1960s, Néstor Salerno participated twice in the 1000 Km of Buenos Aires (with a Ferrari 212 and a Maserati 300 S), and then became part of the official Lancia team.

He then started manufacturing replicas of the racing cars with excellent results, amongst which was the Maserati 450 S.

This superb Maserati recreation is true to the original and is based on the legendary Pocholo Ramirez car.

Ramirez was Asia`s greatest Formula 1 driver and this car has been built to a very high standard, remaining true to the original drawings of the Maserati 450 S.
