AI Listing Summary
This 1936 Standard Flying 12 is presented as a well-preserved and original example, having been stored correctly and recently re-commissioned. With only 58,000 miles and described as mechanically sound with excellent bodywork, it represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of motoring history.

Condition
7
The car is described as being in very good condition for its age, with an excellent underside, no corrosion, and very good chromework. It has been stored correctly and re-commissioned, suggesting it's been well-preserved. The mileage is relatively low for its age. However, being an 88-year-old car, it cannot be in pristine condition and may require some minor reconditioning to maintain its condition.

The Standard Motor Company was founded on 2nd March 1903 by R.
W.
Maudslay.
He was a civil engineer by profession but realised the enormous potential of the horseless carriage and became a motor manufacturer, establishing a small factory in Coventry.
He employed seven people to assemble the first car powered by a single-cylinder engine with three-speed gearbox and shaft drive to the rear wheels.
By the end of 1903 three cars had been built and the labour force had been increased to twenty five.
The increased labour force produced a car every three weeks during 1904.
In 1914 Standard became a public company.
Stored for a number of years albeit correctly having been greased and oiled in all the right places, this Flying 12 has recently been re-commissioned.
The car is as original as one could expect from a 1936 vehicle and has covered only 58,000 miles in its 78 years on the road.
The underside of AAP 303 is in excellent order and the bodywork shows no sign of corrosion.
