George Singer started his business career with the dream of building the best cars in the world and as a consequence in 1901, he formed the Singer Motor Company in England.

The company grew from a small assembly garage to being the third largest car manufacturer in Britain.

The success of Singer was its policy to adopt new ideas; when most cars were powered by a six volt electrical system, Singer installed a 12 volts one.

Power supported brakes were introduced in the 1920's and a unique roof that retracted into the rear of the car when activated by the driver and a complex system of chains - a system that has only just reached its natural evolvement in today's modern sports cars.

The car was called the Singer Senior and it is a saloon version that is offered here today.

It comes with four wide doors, a sloping single leaf windscreen with visor and provided remarkable value at the time selling as it did, for £260.
