The 'Hero' escape car, used by one of Captain America's enemies when trying to make his escape.

Buick introduced the '40' model in 1930, and production continued until interruption by World War II.

When this example was purchased, it was in Military Green (Drab Olive) with righthand drive and running a fairly tired 305ci Chevrolet V8.

It is understood from notes in history file that it was due to a stand-by role for the movie 'Empire of the Sun'.

While the Military paintwork was useful for one scene, we needed a 'Hero' match to our 'Stunt' cars.

This car would become that Hero.

A conversion to Left-Hand-Drive was carried out, along with removal of the Canadian-spec items and installation of a sharper Chevrolet V8 (now a 350ci) and crisper TH350 Automatic Transmission.

The interior was re-trimmed in black vinyl and the body was repainted in black to match the others and the whole package worked a treat.
