MOT – NO Introduced in 1969, the Mini 1275 GT effectively succeeded the Cooper as the sporting model within the Mini range.

Combining the larger 1,275cc A-Series engine with the more angular Clubman-style front end designed under Roy Haynes, the 1275 GT developed an identity very much of its own and remained in production until 1980.

This 1979 example therefore dates from towards the end of the model's production and is finished in a particularly vibrant shade of blue.

Its sporting character is immediately apparent through the contrasting black 'MINI 1275 GT' lower-body stripes and Minilite-style alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet sits the familiar 1,275cc four-cylinder A-Series engine, driving the front wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox.

The combination of compact dimensions, low weight and famously entertaining handling helped make the 1275 GT one of the more characterful sporting Minis of its era.

The cabin retains a pleasingly period appearance.
