MOT – N/A This 1988 Renault 5 GT Turbo Cup racing car is an original model built by Radbourne Racing in 1988 – it was known as ‘RAD 1’.

It was first raced by seasoned Renault racer Dave Cox, who had a long career in the Renault 5 TS Challenge, Renault 5 GT Turbo Cup and later the Renault Clio Cup.

Following action in the high-profile series, Radbourne sold the car to Peter Quinn, another notable racer.

He used it in hillclimbs and springs during the 1990s.

Significantly, it raced at the 2004 Renault 5 30 th Anniversary race at Thruxton, footage of which can be seen on YouTube.

Along with a brace of period decals on the exterior, the car still features Peter Quinn’s name and race number, adding to its originality.

Following its race career, the car was retired into a private collector for around 15 years.

The vendor then acquired it and reports it now has a Renault 11 turbo, baffled sump and heat shield.
