Unveiled in February 1967, the Pontiac Firebird represented General Motors’ response to the rapidly expanding American “pony car” market.

Sharing its basic platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, the Firebird was nevertheless given a distinct Pontiac identity through its split grille, sculpted flanks and wide choice of engines.
