Description
• Desirable SE specification example, with the six-speed manual gearbox • Modest 95,000 miles from new •
Finished in the complementary colour scheme of Sterling Grey metallic paintwork with Red leather interior • Offered with service history, illustrating ten documented services Produced from 2002 to 2008, the first-generation Z4 consists of the E85 (Roadster) and E86 (Coupe) models.
Built with a mind to provide an active alternative to the Porsche Boxster in America, it used rear-wheel drive and six-cylinder engines almost throughout the range (although there was a four-cylinder 2.0i version in Europe).
Compared to the Z3, the Z4’s body dimensions were larger and its wheelbase was longer and wider.
The suspension was upgraded to be stiffer and the car was equipped with a sport package that tightened up the steering.
Some of the Z4’s elements were borrowed from the BMW 3 Series, such as the multilink suspension which was more advanced than the one used for the BMW Z3.
