AI Listing Summary

This 1968 Daimler V8 250, a rare UK RHD model with JDHT certification, presents well with a professionally refinished interior wood veneer and recent £10,000+ mechanical recommissioning by Daimler V8 specialists.
While it has been diligently maintained with MOTs dating back to 1979 and recent cooling system repairs, it has had five previous owners, and its exact mechanical condition beyond the recent work isn't fully detailed.

The car has undergone significant restoration work by Daimler V8 specialists in 2022, including engine and gearbox removal, core plug replacement, new fuel tank, and overhauled carburetors, totaling over £10,000. It also benefits from a stainless steel exhaust, polybushed suspension, and LED lighting. While the wood veneer has been professionally refinished, the description mentions cooling issues that were addressed in 2022, and there's a record of engine work in 1990. The mileage is c.91,000 and it has had five former keepers.

Built from 1962 through to 1969, the Daimler 2½ Litre V8 (renamed V8 250 in 1967) was the first model to be produced by the marque on a Jaguar platform, and the last Daimler to feature its own engine.

While clearly a derivative of the all-conquering Mk II Jaguar, the Daimler's fluted grille and more luxurious interior gave it an air of exclusivity.

Its name was drawn from its Edward Turner-designed engine, a lightweight, eight-cylinder 2,548cc V8 shared with the SP250 sports car.

Production continued until the manufacture of all Mk II derivatives ceased in 1969, by which time some 17,620 of the Daimler version had been made, making it the best-selling car in Daimler’s history.

A UK market RHD example supplied by Saunders Garage on 23rd December 1968 with JDH certification confirming its originality, RDD 604G shows five former keepers on its V5C and a list of previous owners with corresponding ownership dates accompanies it.
