Penned by Ian Callum and Julian Thomson, the XF replaced the ageing S-Type and marked a bold design shift at Jaguar which can still be seen in models today.
It was developed at Jaguar's Whitley design and development HQ in Coventry and built at the Castle Bromwich Assembly facility in Birmingham.
Launched at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, XF 'X250' production started that November with deliveries commencing in March 2008.
The model received a facelift in 2011 to bring it's styling more in line with the Jaguar C-XF concept which the XF was ultimately a descendant of.
Initially, the engine line-up remained much the same as the S-Type with 3.0 and 4.2 petrol powerplants alongside a 2.7 V6 diesel, later the 240bhp 3.0 SDV6 unit joined the line-up and delivered a spritely 0-60 time of just 6.7 seconds.
The X250 model XF was succeeded by the X260 in 2015.
