The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was an homologation special of the fifth-generation Escort.
It was designed to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship, in which it competed between 1993 and 1998.
It was available as a road car in very limited numbers; only 7,145 were produced from the start of production on 19th February, 1992, until the last car rolled out of the factory on 12th January, 1996.
It was instantly recognisable due to its large "whale tail" rear spoiler.
With the Escort RS Cosworth having seen a significant value hike in recent years, it should be no surprise that evocations of the highly sought-after car are now being produced.
