Launched in the summer of 1959 with an ingenious transverse-mounted powertrain (with engine above the gearbox), independent 'rubber cone' suspension, front-wheel drive and compact rack and pinion steering, the Mini was a packaging masterpiece and one of the most influential designs ever.
Packing a remarkable amount of interior space into its 10ft length by placing its 'A' series engine sideways, the practicalities which had dominated its design produced a small car which on its rubber-cone suspension and 10-inch wheels was remarkable fun to drive.
First registered on 4 th November 1971, this Austin Mini has been in current family ownership since 1991 with just 2 former keepers recorded on the V5c.
Acquired by the vendor after a family member passed away when in the process of restoring the car in 1998, it has been restored and de-seamed by the vendor's classic car restoration business.
