AI Listing Summary
This 1992 Ford Escort is an RS Cosworth evocation, completed in late 2023, featuring correct Ash Black paint, Recaro interior, and Cosworth styling. It started as a Mk5 Escort XR3i and has 52,000 miles with a recent cambelt change and service.

Condition

While the car is an evocation, meaning it's built to resemble the original, the description highlights that it was completed recently (late 2023) with attention to Cosworth styling and correct paintwork. It also benefits from a recent cambelt change, water pump replacement, and service. However, as an evocation and not an original RS Cosworth, and given it's based on a 1992 Mk5 Escort XR3i with 52,000 miles and seven former keepers, the car cannot be rated as Pristine, Outstanding, or Excellent.

The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was a rally homologation special of the fifth-generation Escort.
It was designed to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship, in which it competed between 1993 and 1998.
It was available as a road car from 1992-96 in very limited numbers, only 7,145 vehicles were produced from the start of production on 19 February 1992 until the last car rolled out of the factory on 12 January 1996.
It was instantly recognisable due to its large "whale tail" rear spoiler.
With the Escort RS Cosworth having seen a significant value hike in recent years, it should be no surprise that evocations of the iconic car are now being produced.
Beginning life as a 1992 Mk5 Escort XR3i, ‘K367 ASX’ was supplied new to the United Kingdom being first registered on the 2 nd of August 1992.
Many years later, the Escort was elected as a prime candidate for the basis of a conversion to an Escort RS Cosworth Mk5 evocation, with work commencing in 2022.
