Introduced in 1986, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W124) is still renowned for its engineering integrity and superb build quality.
A monocoque chassis design equipped with beautifully balanced coil-sprung suspension (wishbone front / multi-link rear), nicely weighted power-assisted steering and responsive four-wheel disc brakes, it was propelled by a generous selection of petrol and diesel engines.

An early flagship for the range, the 300CE exhibited notably sure-footed handling thanks to its forward-biased 53:47 weight distribution.
