The Volkswagen VR6 engine was specifically designed for transverse engine installations in front-wheel drive vehicles.

The narrow-angle of 15° between the two 'rows' in the VR6 engine was more compact than a traditional, wider-angled, V6 design.

This allowed Volkswagen to install six-cylinder engines in existing four-cylinder cars, as the wider configuration of the V6 engine would have required an extensive redesign of the vehicles to enlarge the engine compartment.

Manufactured in 1995, the VR6 was supplied new to the United Kingdom, being registered here on the 15 th of June that year.

A desirable ‘Highline’ specification example, it is fitted with the 2792cc VR6 engine allied to the five-speed manual transmission.

The Golf is finished in Red paintwork with Black leather interior upholstery.

With just four owners from new, ‘M850 YNW’ has covered 80,031 miles from new (at time of consignment) and is said by the vendor to have all original paintwork.
