AI Listing Summary
This 1996 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG, one of only 5,200 produced, boasts low mileage (64,600) and a clean MOT history. However, while mechanically sound, the car needs cosmetic improvements. Originally sold in Guernsey, it comes with service history, but the NOVA application is still pending.

Condition
6
Based on the vendor's condition ratings, the car presents a mixed bag. While the engine and gearbox are rated 'Very Good,' indicating strong mechanical health, the 'Average' ratings for electrical equipment and paintwork, along with 'Good' ratings for bodywork and interior trim, suggest some areas need attention. The listing itself acknowledges the need for 'some cosmetic improvement,' further supporting a rating that acknowledges both strengths and weaknesses.

AMG was founded as a racing engine forge in 1967 by former Mercedes-Benz engineers; the letters 'AMG' taken from their names; Aufecht, Melcher and Großaspach.
In 1990, with AMG having become a high-profile purveyor of modified Mercedes-Benz cars, Daimler-Benz AG and AMG signed a contract of co-operation allowing AMG to leverage Daimler-Benz's extensive dealer network and leading to commonly developed vehicles (the first one being the Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG, in 1993).
The C-Class received its first genuine performance model, the C36 AMG, to counter the new six-cylinder BMW M3.
Developed with AMG, it had racing-tuned suspension and the 3.6-litre engine had a general output of 276bhp, accelerates from 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds and top speed was limited to 155mph - an unlimited top speed was recorded at 169mph.
Only 5,200 of this model were produced and sold worldwide.
This 1996 car was supplied new to Guernsey, first registered in the country on the 13 th of February 1996.
