Within two years of the 911’s launch, Porsche introduced the S, a model aimed at the most demanding drivers.

It shared the standard car’s body and 2-liter flat-six, but gained 30 hp through extensive internal changes, along with an uprated 901 gearbox, front and rear anti-roll bars, adjustable KONI shocks, forged Fuchs alloy wheels, and ventilated disc brakes.

With a 140 mph top speed, the short-wheelbase 911 S remains prized for its raw, rev-happy character.

No 911 S was officially delivered to the US in 1968, owing to emissions rules; this Coupe was later imported from Italy.

In 1985, it was extensively restored at a cost of around $60,000.

European Auto Works of North Carolina carried out the body and interior work using correct factory parts, paint, and undercoating, while German Turbosport of Greensboro rebuilt the flat-six.

The car has since been used sparingly and presents very well today due to considerate and careful custodianship.
