Following its domination of the Can-Am racing series in 1972 and 1973, Porsche applied its hard-won turbocharging expertise from the track to road-going production.
Unveiled at the 1974 Paris Motor Show, the Type 930 represented a bold new chapter in Porsche performance.
Its 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-six engine, widened wheel arches, uprated suspension, and signature “whale tail” rear spoiler made it instantly recognizable.
Both thrilling and demanding to drive, the 930 delivered benchmark performance for its era, accelerating from 0–60 mph in under six seconds and reaching a top speed of around 155 mph.
Finished in Grand Prix White over a Cinnamon leather interior, this 1976 Porsche 930 is among 520 first-year examples built for the US market between September 1975 and July 1976.
