Selon une copie du registre de fabrication de l’usine, cette 220 S « Ponton » Cabriolet a été initialement produite dans la couleur Hellblau (bleu clair) et était l’un des derniers exemplaires livrés.
D’après la copie du Kraftfahrzeugbrief, elle est arrivée en novembre 1958 chez son propriétaire initial, Funk Radio de Hanovre, en Allemagne, où elle est restée pendant huit ans.
Cette Mercedes Ponton fut ensuite achetée par Heiko Gebhardt, un journaliste de la même ville.
