The Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Mille Miglia Speciale was a rare, high-performance model, of which only 10 supercharged examples were built, according to the research of Angela Cherrett.
A competition-focused car, its engine was set back further in the chassis and the fuel tank was relocated immediately behind the driver to improve weight distribution.
Coachwork was lightweight and mainly produced by Zagato.
In 1928, Giuseppe Campari and Giulio Ramponi garnered Alfa Romeo’s first victory in the 1000 Miglia in a 6C 1500 Super Sport with very similar specifications.
This lovely second-series Mille Miglia Speciale was first delivered in the UK as a James Young-bodied two-seater to one of the most enigmatic figures in motorsports history, Dr.
