The designation Flying Spur was first seen on a Bentley chassis in 1957 and its successful production run continued through to the end of construction of the S3 Continental chassis.

This designation was then reintroduced in 2004 with the new ultra-luxury, high-performance grand touring saloon from Bentley Motors.

By 2013 the second-generation models were introduced which were produced until 2019, featuring all-wheel drive, an eight-speed gearbox and a V8 engine with twin turbos capable of 500bhp.
