Vehicle Production of the Dino 246 GT commenced in August of 1969 after 152 units of the 206 GT had been built.

The engine was enlarged to 2.4 litres and the new model also had a slightly extended wheelbase.

The 65 degree V6 was transverseley mounted featured dual overhead camshafts with two valves per cylinder and wet sump lubrication.

The block was cast iron with an alloy head and three twin choke Weber carburettors.

Transmission was an all syncromesh five speed with a single plate clutch.

The body was styled by Pininfarina with Scaglietti handling the fabrication of steel panels with the exception of the aluminium front lid.

The chassis was tubular steel with alloy panels riveted in place and rack and pinion steering.

Fully independent suspension all around with Koni telescopic dampers and coil springs.
