AI Listing Summary

This 1946 Rover 14 is a highly original, 'oily rag' survivor, retaining its factory black paint, interior, and mechanical components. While showing its age with some blemishes and wear, it presents a charming patina and a unique opportunity for collectors valuing originality over restoration.

Description Highly original example Same family owned since 1981 From a private collection HPI Clear This Rover 14 was first registered on 18th May 1946.

With a straight 6-cylinder engine of 1939cc and 4-speed manual gearbox, this car was sold as a high-quality sports saloon after the War.

It has had titled ownership (Sir John Mellor and then his wife, Lady Mellor), which is an indication of how these Rovers were perceived, and the monogram survives today on the vehicle’s front doors albeit somewhat faded.

Its recorded milage is 81,947.

EUE 919 is the original registration number.

The important factor about this Rover 14 is that it survives in totally original condition.

It is an ‘oily rag’ car but its patina is charming.

It has never had any restoration work or welding.

The interior and exterior with blemishes of use over nearly 80 years are a throw-back to a different era where quality of engineering and finish were the order of the day.
