The Vauxhall FE was the last car created independent from Opel.

Background
In the launch publicity, the FE was ambitiously christened the “Transcontinental”.
A young, keen advertising executive working at the time for the company, called Murray Walker, probably had a hand in that enthusiastic blurb.
The FE could trace its lineage back to the Wyvern.
Mechanically, the FE was a development of the successful FD.
The body, however, was completely new.
A larger glass area and more interior space gave the car a spacious, airy feel.
